The news has a group of Mora residents opposed to drilling in the rural Northern New Mexico county spoiling for a fight. An e-mail sent out over the weekend by Drilling Mora County calls on Mora residents to show up at the lease sale and protest.
Sealed bids on the leases will be accepted until 9:30 a.m. Sept. 16. The leases are for 10 years with the state receiving one-eighth of the royalty for public schools and other entities."
